Moxie Midwifery is a home birth midwifery practice located in Chandler, focused on empowering mamas to bring their babies earthside through a beautiful, triumphant birth experience in the safety and comfort of their own home. All hour-long prenatal visits, the birth, and all five postpartum visits are facilitated by Jennifer Hoeprich, a licensed home birth midwife since 2011. Moxie Midwifery offers free use (including set-up and take-down) of a labor and birth tub, and alternates visits between your home and her office, conveniently located at Kyrene and Chandler Blvd in Chandler. Moxie Midwifery serves the East Valley, including Maricopa and Casa Grande, and offers a $100 discount to all clients taking a Bradley Method Class and an additional $100 discount to any clients hiring a doula.

What is a doula? (From Evidence-Based Birth)
According to DONA International, a doula is a professional who is trained in childbirth and provides continuous support to a mother before, during, and just after birth (postpartum douluas are not covered in this article). Doula comes from a Greek word that means “a woman who serves” or “handmaiden.”

DOULA MEET+GREET
If you and your partner have talked about hiring a doula and don’t know where to even begin, the Doula Meet+Greet is a great place to start and get more information! It is also the perfect opportunity for families who want to interview doulas and don’t know where they are going to find the time between work and other commitments to get some interviews done.
We have several doulas attending the Bradley Day Family Festival. Five of them are going to participate in the Doula Meet+Greet…here is how will work:
Time: 11:30 – 12:30
Format: Round Robin – 10 minutes per doula/couple
Location: McClellan Library Entrance (it looks like castle!)
If you want to be one of the couples who gets to take advantage of this incredible opportunity, you will sign up at the registration table when you arrive at the event. You will receive a folder with contact sheets for all the doulas, plus a list of suggested interview questions. You can tailor the questions for your own needs, or come up with your own. The key is that you will have some of the Phoenix area’s best doulas right across the table from you!!
At 11:30, each couple will be seated with one doula. Every ten minutes, time will be called and you will move on to the next doula in the rotation. At the end of the hour, you will have had the opportunity to meet and greet five doulas, and you will have a better idea about the type of person you want to hire to support you through your journey of pregnancy and birth.
All the doulas will be at the Doula booth before and after the Meet+Greet session if you want to get to know them a little better. If you cannot make it to the Doula Meet+Greet, you can still pick up contact information for all the doulas before and after the Meet+Greet at the information table that will be under their canopy.

I have been there…you may have been there…at an informative event that you want to enjoy…except there is nothing for your children to do and you do not want to leave them alone the whole day…
We have designed the Bradley Day Family Festival to be fun for the whole family! We have a food truck serving up a perennial favorite food…grilled cheese!! The other option is to pack a picnic lunch to enjoy at the lunch tables we will have set up; or take it to the lawn at Margaret T. Hance Park (adjacent to the Irish Cultural Center) for the kiddos to get a little stretch out before you come back to the event.
There are also several exhibitors who will be offering activities at their booths so you can learn and/or shop while your children are otherwise occupied. Here is list of who they are and what they will have for the kiddos. The program on event day will help you find them:

The Bradley Method® Teachers of Arizona are so pleased to be back again in 2014 with another event to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Robert Bradley.
Dr. Bradley believed in natural childbirth. As part of his teaching on how to have a natural childbirth, he included information which helped his patients to have a healthy, low-risk pregnancy as well. As an extension, many of us who have taken Bradley™ classes also practice a healthy, low-risk lifestyle after our children’s Birth-Days.
This November, we are excited to bring you an event where you can meet local Bradley Method instructors. We are also inviting some of the area’s finest educators and exhibitors who teach, promote and provide goods that help families live greener lives.
Our keynote speaker is Rhondda Evans Hartman, RN, author and creator of The Bradley Method® exercise program. She will be joining us to talk about Dr. Bradley’s career, share anecdotes of their time working together, and answer questions from the audience. In addition, Rhondda will also be sharing her new award winning book, Natural Childbirth Exercises for the Best Birth Ever, and be available for book-signing if you would like an autographed copy.

Our event is being held to celebrate Dr. Robert Bradley and The Bradley Method®. Dr. Bradley was an advocate of natural birth and [partner]-coached childbirth. As an extension of a natural pregnancy and birth, The Bradley Method® also encourages healthy, low-risk choices for the whole family.
